On the 25th anniversary of its release, one of Wim Wenders' most famous documentary films returns to Giunti Odeon (in a restored version). A group of former glories of traditional Cuban music (Compay Segundo, Ibrahim Ferrer and Omara Portuondo, among others), which had been forgotten for decades, are brought back together by guitarist Ry Cooder (Wenders' old friend and author of the music for Paris, Texas) to make a record and a tour. Personal confessions, musical journeys and tales of lived life intertwine in a splendid fresco in which Wenders' camera, with fluid and enveloping movements, captures with modesty the crystalline talent and irrepressible joie de vivre of these extraordinary musicians.
